Look at this BBC article, they’ve got quotes and everything!!

Peterborough United manager Mark Cooper is on record on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire saying that he wants to sign Eric Lichaj, presumably having seen him play during his loan spell at Lincoln:-

He’s been on loan at Lincoln and is definitely one we’re after. But he’s in and around the Villa squad and we’re trying to persuade them to let him out.

See? It’s easy really. Of course, it probably helps when a manager is willing to go on record like that, most would try to avoid confirming something like this.

Lichaj’s got plenty to learn, but I think most people, myself included, were really impressed with what we saw during the Peace Cup. Personally, I’d have no issue with him as a back up right now, but with Luke Young, Habib Beye and, let’s face it, probably James Milner ahead in the pecking order, sending him out on loan would be ideal.

Unless it’s really felt that he won’t have what it takes, I hope we don’t sell him. He’s a definite one for the future as far as I’m concerned.

I’d let him go on loan but i wouldn’t sell him, i still think he’s one for the future and like you i was really impressed by his performances in the Peace Cup, he’s calm on the ball and likes attacking, he’s a keeper IMO.

don’t worry lads, we’re not about to capitulate to the irresistible force that is peterborough utd. also, you don’t go to all the trouble of plucking an obscure teenager out of america to sell him 18 months later without really finding out what he can do.
