Well, we lost. Not worth adding much more at the moment, except to say how proud I am of the team and how proud I am to be a Villa fan.  Good effort lads, there will be more trips to Wembley I’m sure.  It just wasn’t to be this time.

I suppose I’d have to admit that UtD did rattled the wood work on a couple of occasions and we didn’t really threaten the Utd goal beyond James Milner’s penalty, but a lot will be said about Phil Dowd apparently cutting the Utd players a lot more slack than the Villa players, to put it mildly  There will be a lot of discussion about whether Vidic should have stayed on the pitch and it could be argued that Utd looked infinitely better once Rooney stepped on the pitch, but we were still a little short, it has to be said.

Next time, for sure.

UTV!!

Seriously don't have a problem with the result, they were the better team, but……………the ref was appalling, no defence over the so called penalty and the failure to send off Vidic.
The laws are there for every team, every level, every competition last man, goal scoring opportunity…RED CARD!

no excuses, but i think it takes a very, very brave man to stick to the letter of the 'last man' rule 4 minutes into a cup final if it isn't a million percent nailed on.
