as much as i hate to do so, you have to give redknapp credit for what he's achieved, especially given that spurs weren't in great shape when he took over.

but that doesn't detract from MON's achievement whatsoever. he's delivered the best performance by a villa side in the league for 17 years. redknapp has just done a wee bit better, that is all.

the missed opportunities lead us to think that we could have done better, but we have no shortage of wins that probably left our competitors feeling the same way.

thank you once again and, yes, i'll be keeping things ticking over here during the summer, but since i've little interest in the endless transfer speculation, the content will be reduced.

i'll also be writing elsewhere during the world cup, but i'll drop the odd link here.

Thank you for providing the definitive narrative to the season. I look for better things next year, and there is reason to hope for them.

Finishing ahead of Liverpool is satisfying - helping to break the power of the big four, and eases the pain of that bizarre 1-0 added time loss to them in December. For games I am not able to see, your analysis tells me what I need to know.

I trust you will continue to report through the summer. I think it helps to grow the brand. Although blessedly distant from the British football press here in Maryland, I look forward to the day when I am not the only one wearing claret and blue among all those Arsenal and Chelsea shirts.

"Overall, despite some frustrating disappointments here and there, it’s been a marvelous season and I can’t wait to see 2010/11 kick off in August"

Agreed Dan, it's certainly been better than some would have us believe.

If only we could have turned the likes of the Sunderland and Wolves games into wins.

Ah well.
