Yeah, this one sounds like it’s run its course already, but it was a genuine story, not rumour.

On the rumour side, Fulham are said to be back in. We’ll see.

You may be right about a dust up, we’ll have to wait for the memoirs. With the simplest solution usually being the best, I’ll stick to him just dropping down the pecking order.

Just realised when this was posted, duh.

Well the word is that he’s holding out for a pay-off from Villa, so he can accept lower wages at Pool.

Whatever, the deal has fallen through because he doesn’t want to move the family up north.

Frustrating (;-)) as there’s not much to contradict.
The only slight disagreement would be that there must have been some kind of falling out.
And LY talking about not getting a fair crack of the whip has probably finished it for MON.
I just see MON as a bloke who thinks “get your head down, keep your trap shut and your chance will eventually come. You’re getting paid mega bucks for doing nothing, so what are you moaning about?”

Much the same as I’d be thinking and indeed what MON has practically said in his quotes.

You sum it up well, when you suggest that Cuellar offers much more defensively, than Luke does in attack.

i meant to include his age & i read he had 3 years left on his contract. not certain about that, but he may have been given an extension at some point.

ironically, he wasn’t exactly heralded by many as the greatest RB in the world when he arrived so i’m as confused as you are about the apparent reverence he receives.

as i say, good enough player, happy if he stays, not too distraught if he goes.

Have to agree wholeheartedly with everything you say Dan. I would also like to say that Luke Young has become a poster boy for those who don’t rate O’Neill. He is a tidy run of the mill premiership full back no more no less. Yet there are those out there that would have you believe that he is world class and that the manager is an ogre because he can’t see this. It would be good business to sell him at the price being bandied about (he is 31 after all) and it would be great for the wage bill.
