I don’t know what to say. It looked so good for much of the game, I wrote much of the match report during the game, most of it at half time when it looked bright, then it all fell to pieces in the second half and we’re out. That’s all I have right now, I’ll have to see what I can salvage a little later.

Really, really disappointed. It’s no secret that I really wanted to see us do something in Europe this year and we’re out before we got going once again.

No excuses, that was pathetic. Inept and clueless, absolute rubbish in the second half.

That really is it, I’ve got nothing positive to say right now.

Gutted.

They were crap! This is going to be a great season! Let’s just hope we can stay in the league, that’s our only goal now!

It looked good for a while then the wheels came off! Deep breath — I really think the issue is injuries and lack of leadership. MON was such a strong presence that I think MacDonald just can’t fill the void and we don’t have a strong “enforcer” on the team to bring in leadership.

I just hope we can get a solid manager in soon to stop the bleeding but I am afraid this is a rebuilding year.

Is there anyone on this team that can make penalties?

Really just terrible play after Heskey’s goal. Oh well, at least they can focus on the league now.

    hmmm…calm happy thoughts.

Guzan – not an impressive outing
Beye – continues to highlight the reason that MON never played him, put Lichaj in!
Davies – see Beye [WTF was that clearance for the corner! - played like his debut as a self proclaimed pub player]
Collins Cuellar get a pass mark for effort and drive
NRC – not too bad, some nice passes, but had Carlton Palmer-esqe first touch
Ireland – shows promise – especially playing in the hole
Webcam – poor crossing and corners, but wanted the ball and wanted to push on [must soon start to think greener grass exists somewhere - hopefully we can keep him beyond Wednesday]
Petrov – penalty, penalty, penalty (otherwise ok)
Agbonlahor – showed what we are missing
Heskey – [add own cliche here]. National Express ticket to Filbert Street?
Albrighton – put in a shift and showed drive
Delfouneso – not enough time to show if he is firing yet and was unlikely to provide a Vassell Euro-moment in 10 minutes.

KMac – all his statements indicate someone who doesn’t really want the hassle but feels he should take the job. Make a decision (someone…anyone) and focus on employing a full time boss with powers to develop this the team.

…ok rant over….. silver lining is now we have fewer games to play so can focus on the CC and FAC like last year. But the extra games would have been the reward to the fringe players to play competitive football to show their worth. Hopefully, they will have a moment of clarity and take their shoulders-and-chips and move somewhere that can give them a regular game at their level.

    btw – not happy
