Steve Sidwell has signed for Fulham after being on the edge of signing for both West Ham and Wolves in the last couple of days. He will be remembered as the first real transfer movement for Aston Villa in 2011, an own goal on his debut, that lovely goal at Goodison… and… er, the ability to turn practically invisible at will. I’d say he’ll be missed, but not too many people have seen him enough to miss him.
Sidwell was the first signing of the 2008 summer in a £5m deal from Chelsea, but has failed to live up to the potential shown in a Reading shirt. Fulham fans can now look forward to not seeing Sidwell play for them.
Just for fun, why not see if you can not spot Steve take part in the annual ninja parade:-
Did you spot him? Neither did I… he’s good, isn’t he!
Cheers Steve, all the best.
On a more serious note: I wonder if we might hang on to the newly freed #4 shirt until possible to hand it to someone more worthy… I was thinking Ciaran Clark myself. He could do it justice and make it his own for years to come.

Aston Villa News 24/7

My thoughts pretty much echo what you say about him Dan.
Here they are;
So there you go.
Onto something that matters.
I know you hate the rags, but have you seen this?
Pires said: “I am afraid we will be relegated. The entire squad needs to rally around very quickly.
“We are heading straight for the Championship if we continue as we are. I’m scared doubts will set in players’ minds.”
Pires said: “The atmosphere in the dressing room after the Sunderland game was very heated. Relationships between Gerard and certain players are strained and highly charged.”

Yes I know it’s the star, but it has him quoted!
He also goes on to moan that he’s not getting playing time.
This bloke has been here for how long and it seems he already isn’t happy
and thinks we’re f*cked.**
Way to go GH.
What did GH promise Pires, that hasn’t happened, that has p*ssed him off so much?
Even if the first two sentences are BS, he’s already moaning.
** Now, I’ve seen the moaning all day, but the first two sentences are new to me.
Dan, please tell me I’m taking it out of context, as I really don’t think I am.
Nice work sidders, I see what you did there!
Yeah, I read the Pires quotes yesterday in the guardian. At first I figured they were recycling something he said recently, but I think these are fresh and taken from an interview on French radio.
Honestly, don’t know what to make of them. Clearly he ought to keep his trap shut, but the picture consistenly being painted of the scenes behind closed doors is quite bizarre and, let’s be honest, a concern.
Still, like everything else, if theycan string some results together no one will care, but when we are struggling everything goes under the microscope.
