Look, no excuses here, we need to take our medicine, we brought this defeat on ourselves by not pressing for a win or sufficiently holding what we had, but I want to quickly highlight an issue that we all know needs fixing.
I’m not advocating that we should do this kind of review during the game, obviously that would be a ridiculous disruption. I’m not advocating that every decision be reviewed either. However, contentious issues that had an effect
A bit thick on PR here and there as Jack Woodward unconvincingly attempts to lead the players into agreeing that the new FxPro deal will somehow bring success no other sponsor could, but still interesting to see extended interviews. Especially Carlos Cuellar talking about the World Cup and Brad Friedel’s obvious disdain for the bumblebee costume goalkeeper kit.

Little Impressed
One of our better managers during the Premiership years, an ex-player himself, Brian Little says that he’s impressed at Villa resurgence over the last few years and happy that we’re back in the mix among the top teams in the table. [Sporting Life]

Gabriele Marcotti, who is a competent, but not outstanding writer, makes the case that MON is a competent, but not outstanding manager.
It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve just spotted that Stan Petrov has finally made it into the Actim Index Top 100 this week (updated September 22nd 2009) in 74th place. I’ve mentioned the curiosity of Stan’s absence from the Top 100 before, so it’s nice to see him sneak in.
On the other hand, Stan’s inclusion starts me pondering Milner’s absence, but I’ll save that for another post I think.
