I’ll go from the sublime to the ridiculous and keep this super short and to the point. The Times published the graphic below which is available in PDF format here. However, the Aston Villa numbers might not look familiar and there’s a good reason for that.

The numbers that The Times use are correct, but they’re from the Aston Villa FC 2008/09 accounts, not the Reform Acquisitions accounts. The difference between the two, besides the headline numbers you see here, is something that I want to explore in more detail when I have a bit more time.

    Forgive me…what is the “Turnover” number? Revenue? Players going out? Translate to American, please.

      Yes, it’s another term for revenue. Income if you will.

        Thanks – I had the same question. This is not what “turnover” means in American business. The economics of the Premier League finance are hard enough for us in the larger empire to comprehend withuot having to struggle with the language!
