About

Aston Villa Central went live in early 2009 with the aim of doing something a little different from most club specific blogs. The majority of the content is original, well researched and analytical in nature.

We prefer to focus on what happens on the pitch instead of what is rumoured to happen elsewhere behind the scenes.

The blog is independent and not official in any way whatsoever, any views expressed are purely those of the respective author.

While the right to criticism is always reserved, the perspective will always be pro-club rather than anti-any particular individual, be they managers, players or board members. It’s not about being a mindless cheerleader, but negativity for the sake of negativity isn’t clever either.

Now, it’s not all serious business here, you may well spot the odd piece of irreverence among the stats and match reports just to remind ourselves that football is supposed to be fun.
