January Exits/Arrivals

  • Frédéric Guilbert signed for Strasbourg after mutally agreeing a termination of contract.
  • Danny Ings joined West Ham. Bertrand Traoré, recalled from loan in Turkey, took the #9 for the second half of the season.

Loan Details

  • Indiana Vassilev was on loan with Inter Miami (MLS) for the 2022 season. At the end of the 2022 MLS season Vassilev was declared out of contract, but was somehow made available for an expansion draft for St. Louis, starting play in the 2023 season. MLS confirmed Vassilev’s subsequent draft selection, but stated “[St. Louis] would need to strike a deal with the English Premier League side to get Vassilev on the books for 2023”. A permanent move to St. Louis was confirmed on January 17th.
  • Wesley was on loan with Internacional (Campeonato Brasileiro Série A) until the end of 2022, but switched midway through the Série A season to join Levante (Segunda División) for the 2022/23 season. There is an option to make the move permanent. His Villa contract expires in 2024.
  • Viljami Sinisalo joined Burton (League One) on a full season loan. The loan was cancelled in January 2023.
  • Jaden Philogene-Bidace joined Cardiff (Championship) on a full season loan.
  • Aaron Ramsey joined Norwich (Championship) on a full season loan, but in January moved to Middlesbrough for the second half of the season.
  • Kaine Kesler Hayden joined Huddersfield (Championship) on a full season loan.
  • Keinan Davis joined Watford (Championship) on a full season loan.
  • Bertrand Traoré joined İstanbul Başakşehir (Süper Lig) on a full season loan, but was recalled in January.
  • Kortney Hause joined Watford (Championship) on a full season loan.
  • Tim Iroegbunam joined QPR (Championship) on a full season loan.
  • Cameron Archer joined Middlesbrough (Championship) in January for the second half of the season.
  • Morgan Sanson joined Strasbourg (Ligue 1) in January for the second half of the season.
