2009/10 Away Shirt Revealed
Written by Dan on May 24, 2009
I’m watching the Newcastle game and seeing some nice football in patches from the home team, which makes a welcome change from recent form. Barry in particular is running around midfield & getting forward in the way we would all like to have seen more of this season. Read into that whatever your devious little minds wish!!
Today is also launch day for the 2009/10 away shirt and they’ve built a website to explain the whole concept behind the design. It’s a nice idea and well worth taking the time to explore the site, although quite why we’re taking the time to celebrate Aston Villa’s contribution to the national side at this particular moment isn’t clear to me.
This was the first image I saw and my first impression was that it was reminiscent of baseball uniforms, albeit with a slightly retro feel.
I think a lot of fans were keen on last season’s away shirt, so I’m guessing this one will be fairly well received. That’s a big guess as there’s no accounting for Villa fans sometimes, but I, for one, quite like it. I’d probably like it more if it weren’t for the asymmetric, two tone thing going on, but it’s still a decent design.
It’s available now from the Villa Store, but be sure to check out the promo site as there’s some nice wallpapers. I’ll show some low res versions below, but head over to the official site for the high res originals.
Again, someone’s done some really nice work here, so go over to the official site for the full size originals.
