James Miler is still a major doubt after a bout of the flu. MON said that he came in to Bodymoor yesterday, but didn’t train.  The Sun reports that Villa are “optimistic” that Milner will recover.

It was also revealed that Gardner, Salifou and Shorey have also been suffering from flu, but all are back in training, Shorey for a few days now.

Carew remains out with his back injury with MON describing it as “a major bonus if he was back for the festive period.”
