Zoltan Frizz – He Sits In Front Of The Back Four And Makes Nice Plays

This is why I love Twitter:-

If you want, you can follow Zolton here, but more importantly, you really should be following Aston Villa Central.

EDIT: Bylis Ballsh has a Wikipedia page and Zoltan is listed in the current squad. Unfortunately he doesn’t have an entry himself yet, but it can only be a matter of time before he’s sitting front of back four, holding midfields and making nice plays.

Villa Players in Actim Top 100 – Nov 17th 2009

I feel bad, there’s lots of things I could have filled the international break with and Actim is ideal, but it completely slipped my mind. I thought I better throw this update out there before Jermaine Defoe’s 5 goal haul against Wigan wins him every spot in the top 20!!

Of course, I also want to make sure this update is seen as there are no less than 9 Aston Villa players in the Top 100, bested only by Chelsea:-

Statshack – Burnley 1 Aston Villa 1

From a statistical perspective, probably one of the most even games you’ll see. It’s fair to say that Burnley edged the first half and Villa the second, 1-1 has to be regarded as a fair result.

As I mentioned in the first review, Burnley had a home record coming into this game of played 6, won 6 5, so we managed to resist that trend at least. [Edit: My mistake, Burnley have lost at home… to Wigan, if you can

Burnley 1 Aston Villa 1 – Review

A pretty frustrating game on many levels for me. I only got to see portions of the game, but from what I saw it wasn’t the finest of performances you’ll see from Aston Villa this year. Those International breaks are becoming quite tedious.

I missed the opening goal, but it came from a free kick floated in and headed by Caldwell. I saw a quick flash on replay and there’s a hint of offside about it. I

Henry Hands Ireland Defeat, Time To Look For Real Solutions

Now that the international break is over without incident, and we know the 32 teams who will be competing for the World Cup in South Africa next year, it’s time to get back to Aston Villa. Wait, there was an incident? Oh, I have been out of the loop, haven’t I!

Alright, I’m labelling this 0% Villa, but I do have the less than tenuous link of Richard Dunne’s involvement and I’m going to exploit it to shoehorn

Salifou’s Weekly Round-Up #3

Bonjour!! My name is Moustapha Sali-Salifou, but my friends call me Keith and I’m back for my (not so) weekly review. Hoo-hah!!

My first story is not really about Aston Villa, it’s about some players at Arsenal. Actually, I didn’t read the story at Kickette, I just saw the picture (below) and it was clear to me what was going on…. Theo Walcott, Cesc Fabregas, Andrey Arshavin and Bacary Sagna have been secretly pictured at a Furry conference.

Charity Shirt Auction

Aston Villa have donated all 14 shirts used during Saturday’s 5-1 romp over Bolton to charity for auction. You probably noticed that the shirts featured an embroidered poppy on the chest to commemorate Remembrance Day.

The auction closes in a week and you can bid here, it will be interesting to see which shirts raises the most money. Right now it’s Carlos Cuellar who scored his fist goal for Villa.

Warnock’s Call Up Must Mean Curtains For Shorey

Stephen Warnock has been at Villa since the end of August, making his debut in the 1-0 victory over City on September 13th, and in that time he’s made the left back position his own, winning himself a call up to Fabio Capello’s England squad to face Brazil.

An impressive performance for the player who holds the record for the least number of minutes played for Enlgand – 6 minutes against Trinidad & Tobago in May 2008. Warnock himself credits
