Routledge Eyes Exit Door

Wayne Routledge has gone down very well during his loan at Cardiff.  He’s raised the interest of QPR and Cardiff would like to hold on to him.

Cardiff manager Dave Jones on SkySports:-

I have spoken to Villa and they are not averse to a deal before his loan ends on January 17. I want to keep this squad together and that means Michael Chopra and Wayne Routledge staying. I leave any negotiations to the chairman, but I have told him how I feel

I can’t see any reason why MON wouldn’t do a deal. He’s only made a handful of appearances in claret & blue, mostly as a substitute, and cost a mere 125K £1.25 million. It’s pretty clear that MON will pick Milner in that position every day of the week and twice on sundays. If Milner were ever not available you’d probably see NRC, Gardner or any other player in there before Routledge, which kind of begs the question of what was the point of bringing him in in the first place.

But anyway, if he goes then good luck to him. He came, he tried, it didn’t work out, cheerio Wayne.
