Salifou’s Weekly Round-Up #1
Written by Dan on August 6, 2009
Bonjour!! My name is Moustapha Sali-Salifou, but my friends call me Keith and this is my weekly review.
This is my first weekly review, I am very excited, but I do not have very much for you, I am sorry. You see, I was busy with the Peace Cup recently – I got to watch all four games!! They were very good, but not many other people watched. But it was a nice trip to Spain and my friend Carlos saw his friends and family and it made him happy.
We had free wi-fi in the hotel and these were the websites I was mostly checking out. Voici:-
Football love stories: Dion Dublin and Lee Hendrie – I’ve heard lots of things about Mr Dion. Hendrie, not so much. I do not understand why people always talk about Kojak in a roll neck sweater whenever Mr Dion’s name is mentioned? Who Ate All The Pies
Sh*t Lookalikes: Fabian Delph and Dion Dublin – Mr Martin brought a new player to training this week and Pies thinks he looks like Mr Dion. I don’t know about that, but he does talk funny, I can’t understand anything he says. Isaiah said he will translate for me. I like Isaiah. Who Ate All The Pies
Unlikely ‘Tache-A-Likes: Reo-Coker, chamone! – Chris doesn’t know this, but Isaiah, myself and Mr Nigel were actually having a mustache growing contest and Nigel won. twofootedtackle
The lovely Kickette has a picture of my great friend Mr John leaving Nobu in London. I know how he feels with the paps in his face, I once had some tourists taking my picture as I left Walkabout on Broad Street. Although it turned out that they were actually taking Isaiah’s picture because they thought he was Bubba from Forrest Gump. Did you know that Forrest Gump is an Aston Villa fan?? It’s true!!
Sometimes when we train Mr Martin makes us play a game. The rules are simple, if you are American then you have to carry as many English people as possible and run as far as you can while small Scottish people try to push you over. It’s a great game!! I just wish there was something in the rules about Togolese. I would love to play, I once carried Isaiah 75 metres while Shaun Maloney was trying to push me over!! twofootedtackle has a splendid picture of this game.
1919-20 Aston Villa Print – finally, Midlands Memorabilia have loaned the earliest known post-WWI team photograph to the club. I am told that it is unlikely to be on public display, but if I see it I will look at it and tell you about it. We shall be doing our team picture for next season very soon and I hope we have to record some new video segments to go on the big screen before the match. I have been practising a new move that ends with me giving two thumbs up and a big cheesy grin. You will love it my friends!! Hoo-hah!!
I should go now, I should be training and if I take much longer Mr Martin might notice that I am not there!!
Have a good week Aston Villa fans, I hope to be back soon!!
Au revoir
Keith (The Togolese Zidane)
