Carling Cup Rap (Allegedly)

I have @usofarsenal to thank for bringing this to my attention. Well, maybe ‘thank’ isn’t the right word, but to be honest; I’m really not sure yet. One thing’s for certain, our trip to Wembley is bringing the musical, er, talent out of the woodwork.

I’m actually leaning towards this being so random that it might just be brilliant. I stress might. It’s definitely better than that X-Factor horror show though!

Aston Villa Music Video

No, don’t worry. It’s not that video!! Perhaps evidence that every cloud has a silver lining? If it weren’t for that embarrassing piece of rubbish, we might not have fans inspired to make something like this…

From the video’s description:-

Too many rubbish football songs. So I thought I would join in. To mark the 2010 Carling Cup Final, an ex X-Factor contestant recorded a theme for the Villa called, ‘Championees’ ???? As a direct response to it’s utter

Match of the Day 1904

An extreme hat tip to pre-Premier League football. The “good ol’ days”!! Both of these games were overseen by our longest serving manager, George Ramsey.

Preston North End 2 Aston Villa 0 – 1905

Aston Villa Advert Derserves More Views

I was just doing a little house keeping of stuff cluttering up my desktop and I found a link to this official video from the club that is really quite a polished piece of work. I’d certainly be very happy if I had made it, but it’s only had 374 views since March ’09!!

Despite it apparently being a teaser for the 2009/10 season, it was outdated before a ball was kicked by featuring Laursen and Barry, but that’s football

Relive Villa’s First Premiership Season

Very much recommended viewing, some interesting stuff from behind-the-scenes of the first ever Premiership season back in 1992/93 – the one that got away for Villa. It’s amazing how much the game and haircuts has changed since then.

Regardless of where you stand on the levels of cash flowing through the game today, you’ll surely have to concede that a lot of what you see in these videos makes the average pub team look sophisticated today!

The tide is turning. The established “top four” are finally under a serious challenge to their monopoly of the top end of the table. Now it’s time to really get behind the team and cheer them on to success!! YES WE CAN!!!
