It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve just spotted that Stan Petrov has finally made it into the Actim Index Top 100 this week (updated September 22nd 2009) in 74th place. I’ve mentioned the curiosity of Stan’s absence from the Top 100 before, so it’s nice to see him sneak in.

On the other hand, Stan’s inclusion starts me pondering Milner’s absence, but I’ll save that for another post I think.

Aston Villa have 7 players in the Actim Index Top 100 for September 22nd 2009:-

  • 19th Gabriel Agbonlahor – 106 points
  • 33rd Brad Friedel – 88 points
  • 40th James Collins – 83 points
  • 41st Ashley Young – 83 points
  • 49th Carlos Cuellar – 79 points
  • 74th Stiliyan Petrov – 68 points
  • 78th Richard Dunne – 67 points

Yes, Collins and Dunne brought their pre-Villa scores with them. If you compare this with the last update I published from Sept 1st you’ll see that Ashley Young has actually dropped a couple of places from 37th to 41st place.

Gabby has jumped from 72nd place to 19th, Friedel from 76th to 33rd and Carlos Cuellar leaped up from 97th to 49th position. It’s hard to argue that this isn’t a fair reflection of the players’ contributions in the assessed games – Birmingham City & Portsmouth.

This boosts Villa’s overall performance, but we should still expect to see a Villan or two force their way into the Top 100 in the coming weeks:-
