Correcting A Silly Error

Written by Dan on October 5, 2009

I made a bit of a n00b error yesterday with a post referencing classic Greek mythology that unfortunately is synonymous these days with bad ju-ju happening to your computer.

Because of that it’s possible the URL is getting hijacked and re-directed to a site that shows this scary warning sign.

warning

Hopefully it should go without saying that this website is entirely clean of such crap. The website showing you the warning most certainly is not!! I would strongly advise not clicking on the “Get Security Software” button!!

Anyway, I’ve deleted the original post – the only circumstances I’ll do such a thing – and a copy of the article follows below. Apologies for the error.

Q. When is an Aston Villa story not an Aston Villa story?

A. When it’s really about Man Citeh.

There’s a story today in the Express about Randy Lerner apparently seeking additional investment from the “Far East”. The usual tabloid affair; no quotes, no sources, a couple of apparently collaborating details thrown in to create the sense of authenticity, but basically a nothing story, straight from the mind of the author.

To me, this article is a big wooden horse that I’ve wheeled into my castle and as I read it a hatch opened up and a bunch of sword wielding soldiers leaped out resplendent in pale blue armour. It’s more about how Citeh are changing the landscape, forcing the other owners and chairmen to reconsider their game plans than anything coming out of Villa Park.

trojan

Purr-lease!! If the author wishes to blow smoke up Citeh’s arse, he can be my guest, put please don’t wrap it in Claret and Blue cloth. Come back when you’re quoting a credible source Mr Pratt.

Oh, and please don’t use the word ‘fact’ anywhere near blatant nonsense, you make yourself look stupid:-

And this fact was highlighted during the last transfer window, when Villa spent a mere £25m, having splashed more than £100m over the previous two summers.

Really?
