Salifou’s Weekly Round-Up #4
Written by Dan on January 4, 2010
Bonjour!! My name is Moustapha Sali-Salifou, but my friends call me Keith and I’m back for my (not so) weekly review. Hoo-hah!!
First of all, where are my manners? HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you all had a most excellent festive period.
I have had a splendid Christmas!! I should say thank you to the travelling Aston Villa fans who spotted me in the Emirates Stadium on the 27th and sang my name although you did get me in trouble with Mr O’Neill. He thought that I was at Bodymoor Heath painting the dressing rooms and didn’t know that I sneaked out to watch the game.
Acorns
I was also honoured to be asked to visit Acorns with some of the other guys, but unfortunately they didn’t have enough special white T-shirts to go round, Andy Marshall took the last one, so I just stood at the back and pretended. I did get to hold a present though!!
African Nations Cup
Like many managers at this time of year, Mr O’Neill is beside himself at the moment since the African Nations Cup is almost upon us and a very important member of his squad will be going to play in the competition…. ME!!! I’m so excited!!
Togo are in Group B with Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Ghana. It will be tough, but don’t worry Villa fans, with myself and Adebayor in the team, we will surely progress to the knock out stages!! Hoo-hah!!
The Hare
I’ve been told that if you feed him he will score, but Marlon keeps stealing my Monster Munch and I haven’t seen him score many. Anyway, I’m glad to see him come back from Newcastle after a 3 month loan spell. He seemed to settle a bit towards the end and eventually scored 5 in 15 appearances, which isn’t too bad. You know, all things considered.
I am well used to language barriers and I think there has been a problem with the communication between Aston Villa and those Geordies. You see, they wanted Marlon to stay in Newcastle longer, but thought that Villa wanted a £250,000 loan fee, when actually Villa were offering Newcastle £250k to take Marlon off their hands!! I’m just joking Marlon, you know I love you really big man!!
That is all from me this week Villa fans, I have to get packed for Angola now!!
Au revoir.
Keith (The Togolese Zidane)
