Stephen Ireland Likes The Villa Culture – City, Not So Much

He’s definitely making all the right noises and feels like he’s fitting in at Villa already

There’s a video of some of the interview here, I can’t get it to embed at the moment I’m afraid.

I liked what he had to say about Villa and the “bling-bling” culture at City, although with those cars I’m not sure he’s in the best position to criticise. In fairness, I think it’s the attitude he’s taking a swipe at.

I’ve really landed on my feet here. I think it’s a family club and one that will get the best out of me. I am actually shocked at how good it is. I’ve settled in so well, so fast. Even the young lads are so polite. I’m actually quite shocked with that.

At City they’re not like that. They’re coming in with £10,000 watches on their wrists and walking around as if they have played 200 Premier League games.

It’s worth reading the rest in The Guardian. Plenty more outside of what he said in the video above and it doesn’t paint Mancini in a particularly flattering light. But then he’s not likely to, is he?

I don’t care, people can dismiss it as sour grapes if they wish, it sounds like his head is in exactly the right place as far as we need be concerned and he’s going to be a great player for us.
