We will win the league! I am only joking. But the number of points – 31 – we have accumulated already is very important.

But he’s right about something; 31 points after 17 games. Our best points haul at this stage for 10 years and our second best performance after 17 games since the Premiership began!!

For those that don’t remember; we spent many weeks at the very top of the table in 1998/99, only to slip down to 6th in the 2nd half of the season. But hey, 33 points from 17 games was good enough back then to lead the league!!

If you’re a glass half empty kind of person you’re probably thinking about the points dropped against Stoke, Newcastle, Fulham etc. aren’t you?? Well, that’s up to you. But I’m thinking that our second best ever performance at this stage of a Premiership season is something worth smiling about.
